And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
The process of becoming a Catholic is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA. RCIA is the experience by which people become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The experience culminates in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. It involves both a living experience and knowledge of the Church. The person seeking to join the Catholic Church is introduced to beliefs, life, liturgy and ministry in the Catholic community. RCIA is designed for people desiring full initiation into the Church: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. RCIA also includes those baptized Catholics who wish to complete their initiation through the reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, and also those seeking to renew their faith.
The RCIA program at St. Peter Parish is coordinated by our Pastoral Associate, Sheila Roy. The program generally runs from September to Easter with classes meeting on Tuesdays at 10:00 AM and Wednesdays at 7:00 PM. For more information about RCIA, please contact Sheila Roy at 586-468-4578.
