Our Parish Family Welcomes You!

The goal of these ministries is to provide fellowship, hospitality and social support.

Bereavement Committee

These caring parish members provide ongoing support for their fellow parish members who have lost a loved one either through follow-up calls, notes, or through our Grief Support Group sessions.

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week for a 6-7 week session.

Child Care during Parish Events

This ministry provides quality childcare for parents while they attend parish activities that would not be age-appropriate for small children.  We enlist help from teenagers in the Youth Group as volunteers as well as mature adults.

Time Commitment: As needed

Christmas Giving Trees Committee Member

Members help to organize gift selections, create the giving tags, decorate the trees, sort and distribute the gifts after collection.

Time Commitment: 20-25 hours during Advent.

 Communion to Our Homebound

This is a ministry that allows our parishioners to share their love for the Eucharist and their compassion for our homebound by taking Communion to those of us who are limited by age, disability, or illness.  They not only bring Communion, but also bring their warm smiles and kind hearts.

Time Commitment: Once a week on whatever day you are available.

Greeting Card Ministry

The volunteers within this ministry send out birthday and sympathy cards to our parishioners.

Time Commitment: 1 hour, once a year.

Grief Support Group

Twice a year, we hold a six-seven week Grief Support Program.  This program provides a safe environment for our bereaved members to work and/or grow through the mourning process.  If you have lost a loved one recently, this group will help you to move through your grieving period.

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week for a 6-7 week session.

 Helping Hands

This ministry is filled with many gifted people who we can call on when a project arises out of the blue and we need help.  They have many gifts that they contribute at a moment’s notice.  Also, if you have a gift that is not listed here, please let us know and we will find a way for you to share it with us.

Time Commitment: Varies according to your wishes.

Knights of Columbus

This outreach ministry consists of a very active group of Catholic gentlemen who work tirelessly in the community.  This is a great way to make a personal contribution to the Church and community through charity and fraternity.

Time Commitment: 2 hours every 3rd Wednesday of the month

Ladies Craft Ministry

If you can knit, crochet, sew, quilt, make rosaries, etc., this is the ministry for you.  Our crafty ladies make rosaries for missions, baby items for Turning Point, Abigayle Ministries, Compassion Pregnancy Center, and Christmas gifts for our homebound (from St. Peter Church) that consist of quilts, blankets, lap throws, scarves, hats, etc.

Time Commitment: At home, when the Spirit moves you, or every second Saturday  in the Fr. Welch Hall.

A Life to Love: St. Peter's Life Group

MCREST Team Member

The group consists of Mission Specialists who are interested in planning a mission to house the homeless at St. Peter Church one week in July each year.  Many hands make for light work during this exciting and rewarding week.  There are many tasks needed to accomplish their mission, from transportation, shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing, entertainment, set up, break down, etc.

Parish Community Garden (Offsite)

Our parish members, with or without green thumbs, work together to grow vegetables and fruit on a 4-½ acre piece of land, for our families who are in need.  Their work consists of planning, plowing, fertilizing, planting, weeding, harvesting, and distributing the fruit of their labor.  We have fun and invite EVERYONE out to have fun with us.

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week or 1 hour a month; any time commitment will be greatly appreciated

Parish Garden (Flower) Angels (Parish Grounds)
