Grief Support Ministry

Grief Support Ministry

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves receive from God.

Some of life experiences deal us such crushing blows that we wonder if we can ever survive them.  It's during these times we need our faith in God and the support of others. Grief is a heavy burden for anyone to bear, especially alone.

The Grief Support Ministry is a safe haven where we can talk, cry, share our anger, guilt, and fears with those who understand and care. Making new friends and learning to rebuild life is an important part of the class. Participants learn from one another how they are letting go of their grief. We pray for each other, support each other and share with each other.

The Grief Support Ministry is:

  • About coming to terms with all the rollercoaster emotions
  • About growing toward a time when pain is replaced with more positive feelings
  • About coming to terms with change
  • About resolving conflict
  • About dealing with depression and anger
  • About acceptance

Please note: This is a peer ministry only, not a therapy group.

Twice a year, we hold a six-seven week Grief Support Program.  If you have lost a loved one recently, this group is available to help you to move through your grieving period.

Time Commitment: 1 hour a week for a 6-7 week session.
