These caring parish members provide ongoing support for their fellow parish members who have lost a loved one either through follow-up calls, notes, or through our Grief Support Group sessions.
Communion to Our Homebound
This is a ministry that allows our parishioners to share their love for the Eucharist and their compassion for our homebound by taking Communion to those of us who are limited by age, disability, or illness. They not only bring Communion, but also bring their warm smiles and kind hearts.
Grief Support Group Sessions
Twice a year, we hold a six-seven week Grief Support Program. This program provides a safe environment for our bereaved members to work and/or grow through the mourning process. If you have lost a loved one recently, this group will help you to move through your grieving period.
Hospital Eucharistic Minister/ Hospital Visitor
We visit the sick at McLaren Macomb and Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals and share of ourselves with prayer, company, comfort, and the healing power of the Body of Christ.
Interfaith Caregiver Volunteers
This program matches caring volunteers of all ages with older and disabled adults to provide a variety of supportive services such as:
transportation for appointments and help with errands
minor home repairs, maintenance, chores and yard work
light housekeeping and meal preparation
friendly visits and supportive phone calls
respite care (relief breaks) for family caregivers
Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers an experience designed to give married couples the opportunity to learn a technique of loving communication that they can use for the rest of their lives. It’s a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and with God. The weekend provides an environment which is conducive for couples to spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, while encouraging them to focus on each other and their relationship. Every marriage deserves this kind of attention.
Our caregivers provide short term relief in a strictly companion-sitter type of service. There is no “hands-on” responsibility.
Retrouvaille – A Christian Peer Ministry
If your marriage is tearing the two of you apart, if there is little or no meaningful communication, if you are considering separation or divorce, we believe Retrouvaille can help you. Retrouvaille begins with a weekend experience in which husbands and wives are helped to re-establish communication and to gain new insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple.
