The goal of these ministries is to assist parents in the religious formation and spiritual development of their children as well as the spiritual growth of the St. Peter Parish family.
 
Adult Education Greeter

These greeters help to make our guests feel welcome at St. Peter Parish during scheduled Adult Education Programs.

Time Commitment: 20 min. (usually 7:10-7:30 PM) on the presentation evenings (about 5 per year)

 

Protecting God's Children (PGC) Facilitator

Training for all facilitators is provided by the Archdiocese of Detroit at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in October.

Time Commitment: Once trained, you would be expected to facilitate 2-3 workshops a year

 

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Teens)

Adults and teens learn more about their own faith while helping others to learn and pray. The Rite of Christian Education is a process designed to welcome the unbaptized, and baptized who wish to complete the Sacraments of Initiation such as First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Time Commitment: 2 hours a week (September through May, Tuesday 10:00-11:30 AM or Wednesday 7:00-8:30 PM, some Sunday mornings)

 

Religious Education Aide

Many helpers are needed to provide an outstanding Religious Education program.  You will be of assistance to the catechists in the classrooms or in the hallways with small groups of children.  Hallway monitors, parking lot aides and office helpers are also needed.

Time Commitment: Varies with position.  Preschool: Sunday during 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM Mass.  1-8: Monday 4:00-5:30 PM or Tuesday 4:00-5:30 PM

  
Religious Education Catechist

Our catechists share their faith and their love with the youngest members of St. Peter parish by providing students from Preschool through Grade 8 with their Religious Education and Sacrament preparation.

Time Commitment: 1/2-1 hour preparation at home each week and 1 1/4 hours of class each week
